Start Your Path Now!
Everything we think about ourselves comes from somewhere. A brief moment in childhood, a traumatic experience in our early teens, a sly comment from an ex we dated 10 years ago. The reasons why we feel, think and behave stem from these almost seemingly forgetful moments in our life. They imprint on our conscious and formulate a blueprint for us moving forward. Some of these imprints even show up as physical ailments. For example, I had a client with foot issues. Rebecca came to me with swelling, tingling and overall pain in her feet. She couldn't say it came from any injury, her diet was relatively healthy, and she wasn't battling and know disease. Rebecca and I started with Yoga movement, beginning with the Chakra of Communication Respect. This Chakra pays particular closes to the lower portion of the body, here the feet. Setting intention for the session, Rebecca shared she was feeling ungrounded and that she felt unheard and disrespected at home and at work. We agreed to affirm boundaries and create movement for the feet in our future sessions.
In the following weeks, Rebecca and I began introspection work and part of that was journaling. Almost immediately, boundaries and respect came up in all stages of her life. It was a constant struggle she wasn't even aware of. Together, through cleansing, resetting, mindset work, meditation and movement, Rebecca's foot pain is nonexistent. I don't use Rebecca's journey as a promise for all cures to any pains or alignments. My point is that oftentimes things come up we have filed in our subconscious and it can show up in our physical bodies, it can present in our communication style, the words we use for ourselves, how we parent, how we manage work and relationships, etc. This impression on us is there one way or another. The good news is, it can be redirected, healed and repurposed for something positive.
You have to know where these impressions came from and how they show up to begin. We must bring the subconscious to the conscious in order to start. Below you will find some free journal prompts to assist you on starting this journey.
